"Other than the split transitions (which I never like), this was a well-organized, scenic (for Illinois), and very competitive race."

"Galena is a challenging sprint distance race. The water is always cold, the bike course always a hilly challenge and the run, for the first time, was hilly throughout. (The 2009 run course is different than in prior years). The organization and volunteers at Galena is always great. This is a pretty tough course for first timers, even if it is a sprint distance. "
