"Good race overall. Can't beat the downtown Austin venue! Lake swim is fabulous, as is the bike course. The run was HOT HOT HOT because there was hardly any shade. But besides that, this race was great!"

"The was my first time at the Capital of Texas Triathlon and my first triathlon ever. The swim was a one loop course in a river/lake in downtown. The water temperature was good and they started the waves 5 minutes apart so it was not too crowded. The run from swim exit to transition was a bit longer than I would have liked, but not too. The bike course is a 4 laps with a couple of slow hairpin turns. The course was narrow and as a result it get pretty congested at times, and gave the bike a Nascar kind of feel. However, even with all the turns it was still a pretty fast course. The run course was a 2 lap course with part of it sharing the bike course. There were 5 water stations on the loop, for a total of 10 for the race distance. The water stations were very welcome as temperatures were in the mid 90s during the run. I particularly enjoyed the station workers with super soakers. All in all I had an absolute blast, and the city of Austin is a fantastic host city."
