"Unfortunately, this park has been shut down by the state government and this event was held for the last time (for the foreseeable future) in December 2008. You had the option of choosing either 2 laps of an approx. 8.5 mile loop for a 17 mile or so long race, or 3 loops + 1 special shorter loop for a marathon. Mild to moderate hills, pretty sections along a stream, and not very technical trails. Also, by repeatedly passing the starting/finish line, you could see spectators, drop layers, get food and water, etc.
The park is about 45 minutes' drive from downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Keep an eye out for its reopening--I hear that Louisville runners and other recreational users of Otter Creek Park are advocating for its re-opening! "
