"It's a five mile run not 5K and it’s my favorite race. Starts out with a buzz over by a NYPD helicopter. The race is out along the scenic Shore Road Bike Path. The course is flat out and mostly rolling hills back with plenty of water stops along 3rd Ave. There are long-sleeve t-shirts for adults and short sleeve for the kids. There are 25-75 yd dashes for the kids and they all receive medals. The post race party is great - hamburgers, hot dogs, Utz snacks, beer, soda, and rides for the kids. There's a live band and a DJ. All this for $15.00 pre-registered. If you’re lucky enough to win in your age group they have nice sweatshirts.
Last year the splits were off, but other than that it was a great race!
The PO Chris Hoban Memorial 5-Mile Run is "The Bay Ridge Belmont" the final leg of the Brooklyn Triple Crown.
