"The course goes through Bryce Canyon National Park, so it has AMAZING scenery. And the first 7 miles are pretty much straight downhill, so it makes for fast times... but burning quads.
They served water and gatorade on the course. The volunteers at the aid stations were very kind. And even though the course goes through pretty remote country and the few towns it goes through are TINY, the residents still turned out to cheer and that was fun. The crowds cheering at the finish line was nice, enough people to make it feel like a real "crowd" but not so many people that it feels like you'll be lost in a sea of people after.
They had shuttle buses to transport racers to the start line from the various little towns nearby. Most people will probably end up staying in Tropic, Cannonville or Bryce Canyon for the race.
They had a spaghetti dinner the night before that cost $10 a plate, but I packed my own food.
Post-race they had water and oranges/bananas. There was a pancake breakfast in the park that cost $5 a person available as well.
The medal is a simple outline of the rock formations in the National Park and says the name of the race. It didn't specify the year."
