"The company that puts this on does pool swims, which means one swimmer after another after another. They closed transition at around 5:45am, but swimming didn't start till 7am and they had swimmers starting the race after 9:30. So many had to wait for hours before starting a race that only takes about an hour to finish. It's not a true type of triathlon, but for those who don't like open water swims, this is a good way to test out triathlons and see how it goes. "

"Seriously - I entered the first race in 2007 Tempe Town Lake, and it was a great event, but having many first time triathletes in an open water swim was a bit scary. I missed last years event, but 2009 event was awesome. Well organized, great course, very easy flow, swim went well, plenty of room to pass in the water, many volunteers to keep you on course, and plenty of water and support. I loved the energy of the racers and especially the gal that ran in honor of her mother - a breast cancer survivor. It made me proud to be a part of this event."
