3 Reviews for Greater Danbury Half Marathon

"Rolling hills throughout the course. Miles 7-11 had the most hills. Mile 12 was downhill and 13 was flat making for a fast finish. Facilities were great with showers on-site, massage tables, and plenty of refreshments. Reasonable priced with a nice tech shirt and a medal. Good on-course support with water, gatorade, and gu available and marked miles.
Most roads are not closed to traffic but there is a good police presence throughout. Late start also helped with the temperatures.
Good Spring Half Marathon. The Challenging course might not be too good for first timers. "

"Compared to my first half-marathon this was no where close to hilly, but many said this was a hilly course. They had great bands playing along the course, plenty of aid stations, and a large crowd at the finish. Great race overall."

"This course was EXTREMELY hilly. Unless you do some serious training expect to add a few minutes to your goal time. Aside from that, I didn't like that the course was open to traffic. I have run races open to traffic before where at least one lane was reserved for runners but in Danbury you were confined to the white margin on the side of the road. They didn't give a finishers medal at the end but they did give out a nice running shirt. If I lived in Danbury I might run the race again but it is not a race worth traveling for, in my opinion."
