"This is one of my FAVORITE races, although it is one of the hardest ones I've ever done. It has some great hills and some long straight stretches. The best part is the crowd, cheering you on from the start to the finish. It has a great after party also."

"The Quad Cities Bix 7 race is GREAT! This is my 5th year participating in the race and once again loved it! The first quarter mile is straight uphill, which can be difficult navigating with thousands of runners all around you. The first half of the race is basically into the sun with the majority being downhill once you make it up the Brady St. hill. Once you reach the turnaround at 3.5 miles the sun is behind you but you are faced with the challenging uphill terrain the rest of the way back. The race does not seem too difficult if you play off of the support from the hundreds of community members lining the course. Overall, I really enjoy this race and recommend it to any runner (beginning or experienced) looking for a challenging yet fun race! "

"This race was very organized. They are strict about lining up with the runners you grouped yourself with timewise when you signed up. The gun fires and you are immediately running up a steep hill I believe a 9% grade incline for the first 1/3 mile. Its rough, by the time I got to the top my lower back muscles were on fire. There were over 15,000 runners this year, so the pace up the hill is not fast. I run a 10 min mile or less on normal days, well my first mile was 11:17 - there are so many people its difficult to move around. Runner ettiquette is there with people who run alot, but people who aren't running for the fun/sport of it have no idea and just stop in front of you instead of moving to the side. This year it was a cool 68 degrees at the start. Normally its in the 80's to mid 90's, it's a brutal course the entire run back from the 3.5 mile turn around point is basically UPHILL. It's a fun race with lots of crowd support across the entire race route. I will definately run it again next year. They do not allow strollers, but do allow wheelchair participants. The night before they have what is called Jr Bix, for children from ages 1-12. The distances range by age, my son did the 4 year old race and ran 70 yards.
