"I liked this race because a good portion of it is run through a park (but beware it's a hilly park). Not only did that mean it was pretty but also that there were ACTUAL BATHROOMS and one extremely important bathroom showed up at just exactly the right time for me just a little jog down a hill pratically still on the course. And did I mention no line? I can't promise that you will have your own Heaven sent potty, but there's enough that chances are you won't have to wait in your moment of desperation.
But here's the absolute most freaky weird thing about this race or any race I've ever run for that matter. Near the end you run on some paved trails through the woods and you'll go across a couple of bridges. The bridges wobble just a little bit, but not knowing this when I ran across them I thought something was wrong with me and my legs were giving out. I had a few other friends running in the race and they all thought the same thing. It's so weird!
Also you should know there is a GREAT kids race the day before. They call it the Kids Mini Martian Marathon. The kids are all supposed to run 25 miles prior to race day (not all at once or anything) then they run the last 1.2 on the course which is fairly easy except for the one devil hill they throw in right near the finish (seriously, who plans a kids' race and puts a giant hill on it). My 3 year old ran this race and loved it especially the big stinkin' fat medal she got at the end. Not a little ribbon or chincy plastic medal, it looks almost exactly like mine and she thought that was very cool and so did I! "
