"Normally a trail run, in 2007 flooding closed the state park through which the course ran. Re-routed onto country roads, I was thrilled with this small run. It is primarily a flat area but with some rolling hills. Really though, the best part was the camaraderie of the runners and the enthusiasm of the local church members who hosted the event. I missed placing in my age group, but I won plum preserves in the raffle. The post race "feed" was a fun soup dinner with cookies and bread in the church dining hall. Outside there was plenty of fresh fruit and water too. A fun low key cheap fall half marathon."
