"This is a very good race to run for anyone. This 10 mile distance is challenging for many reasons. If you are doing this race for a fall marathon prep - the heat will help with the quest to finish in a good time.
If your are a newbie - to finish a 10 miler will be your challenge.
The Crim was my VERY 1st race I ever ran in 1995.
Since this year is the Men's 10 mile championship - there should be A LOT of famous runners there!"

"What this race lacks in port-a-potties and ease of arrival, it certainly makes up for in crowd support. It seems like nearly all of Flint comes out to cheer you on, turns on their hoses to cool you off, and does their best to entertain you.
There's tons of aid stations, because not only are there the official race provided stations, but lots of the community comes out to provide aid of one sort or another...frat boys with Crispy Cremes, a radio station with beer.
Watch out though for the one frat house handing out water. I swear to you I watched one dude stick his finger in the cup to pick something out before he handed it to some poor runner and the rest of the guys had these weird grins on their faces. Maybe they were just excited about the race, but they seemed a little too smiley for frat boys at 8AM on a Saturday morning.
Best part of this race are the cold paper towels at the end that were just sitting in a bucket of ice water before you exhaustedly headed over.
Worst part is the lack of port-a-potties. We drove 1 1/2 hours to get to the race. Desperately needed a pit stop once we arrived. The lines at the port-a-potties and the indoor bathrooms were insane. Depending on the severity of your situation your best bet might be to just skip looking for a short line and search yourself out a semi-private bush. Not that I did that or anything...I'm just sayin' :-)"

"Awesome race and a fun day in general. Course is great; big hill at the halfway point, but it's tradition. The only downside is that it's in Flint, MI, which makes it a difficult race to do logistically."
