2 Reviews for Fontana Day's Run Half Marathon

  (07-01-2009)
"I've run the Fontana Days Half Marathon twice so far and here are the positives:
1. Runners are bussed to the starting line and it is very organized. The wait is never long and everyone arrives to the starting point on time.
2. The course is downhill which makes for a easy run.
3. Goodie bags are the best of any race I've participated in.
4. Plenty of water stations.
5. Volunteers are very helpful and friendly.
Now for the negatives:
1. No chip timing! This is so important especially for those of us who are trying to cut down on our run times. I'm sorry, but I like to know my exact time.
2. Downhill running is brutal on the body.
3. This is very much a solitary run. If you're looking for cheering crowds to push you through the finish line this is not the race for you.
4. Keep in mind the race begins way up in the mountains. It is very cold so remember to bring a jacket, trash bag, anything to keep you warm.
Overall, I believe this to be a great race. Great crowd!"

"I was very impressed by the organization of the race. Positives:
1. Everything on time
2. Easy registration
3. Everyone very helpful
4. Plenty of water
5. Excellent food afterwards
6. Great medals
7. Real-time results
Suggestions:
1. Louder blow-horns to talk to the crowd. The 1400 could not hear what the organizer was trying to say.
2. More portable restrooms both at the start point and during the race "
