"This is the first year we did this race, and coming from sea level to compete was a terrific challenge..which is what we were looking for. We did have a challenge on our start time, but it all worked out in the end. I do agree that the "hi-tech" shirt is deceiving in it's description, but I did not come from San Diego for a shirt..I came to compete. Thank you and you have me hooked for many years to come."

"Coming from Texas, my team did not know what to expect running at elevation. Paul and the rest of the WWR team really helped our team prepare for the race and it resulted in an incredibly fun adventure. It was my 4th relay and the WWR course is by far the most scenic and this race is one of the best run I have experienced. Next year, I am going to plan for a little R&R in Steamboat after the race. I highly recommend this race."

"Having run over 10 relays on 4 different relay courses both as 10-12 person and 5-6 ultra teams I found this one very enjoyable. Big enough that you have other runner nearly always in sight but not so big that the exchanges are too crowded. Certainly the climbs and decents can be tough, there are also enough less challenging legs that allow teams/runners of all levels to participate. The finish in Steamboat is great and the early August date typically makes the weather idea. Organization is great from the start line, through the exchanges to the finish. There are so many positives, but to be fair, one negative is that there are some sections of the course that have limited shoulders on higher speed roads, but the other sections of the course make up for it by far."

"Great Race! Very challenging and fun at the same time. If you want a long weekend event that is physically and mentally challenging this is it. It is very well organized and is just a crazy fun thing to do that allows you to bond with fellow runners. The town you finish in is also a great perk! Can't wait for next year."

"Having been an active participant since the early 70's in a vast variety of races and events, and coming into this one as a 'newcomer', my expectations were based on how races are typically organized and how the race organizer sees to the needs of the attendees. Now please note I did not say the desires of the attendees but the needs. A basic need? A good wholesome, nutritious and tasty meal after a 30hour+ event would have been nice (and very much so needed). Does this race offer that? Not even close. In fact it may have been the most dissapointing post-race meal I have ever had. Also, the 'tech-shirt' that was handed out was of a nice material but has been unraveling since the day I got it. When I made the organizer aware of these shortcomings (Along with sections of very dangerous highways that we ran on)there was no response sent my way. I would have liked to have some dialogue on these issues but none was to be found. Now, if for a moment, you think I am one to complain about events you are simply wrong. There is MUCH room for improvement to be made on this race, and it's all basic, simple stuff."

"I have run this in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and enjoy it more each year. The scenery is amazing, the race is well organized and the volunteers do such an outstanding job. If you are considering running a relay race this should be at the top of your list. It just keeps getting better!

"Every year I set a goal to do something running-related that I have never done before and the Wild West Relay was a terrific choice! This event is well-organized, fun, and something that I was able to do with family and frineds. "

"I've done this race every year and enjoy it so much because of the scenic uncrowded course. The race is well organized and the other race participants all seem to be enjoying themselves. There are challenging hills and picturesque landscapes that add to the overall experience of running a relay. This, in my opinion, is the best relay event that I have done because of all the factors mentioned and I have done others in Colorado, Oregon, California and Utah to compare to."

"This is a race is a must do, the race directors did an excellent job of organizing 1500+ runners covering 200 miles. Beautiful scenery, challenging course, would do it again without hesitation. "
