"I ran the Inaugiral California Classic Half Marathon in Fresno. You never know what to expect when you run an inaugural race. I had high hopes since this group has been organizing bike races during this weekend before. The race started at 7am on sunday morning, I think for the central valley in may this is too late-but thats me.
We were chipped timed and started on time. We ran thru downtown fresno winding thru the streets-finally heading to the zoo (the real reason I ran this race) around mile 7. Up to this point I hadnt seen any porta potties!!! Once we got to the zoo, there were ports potties.
The zoo was small but fun-I could have run loops in there and been happy!
This sint the most scenic of races. It\'s flat but in may can be pretty warm, and it was on this day! Warm and sunny.
The finish and finish line festival was held in the minor league baseball stadium. Beer garden, ice cream and breakfast!! Not too shabby! The beer tasted fantastic after a warm sunny race!
They did a great job for their first half marathon. I wish there would have been more port potties along the course!
The volunteers and support were fantastic!!!
