"A nice early-season sprint tri near NYC. The race management was flawless, the course was well-marked and maintained, and the post-race festivities were also worth staying for (pancakes!). The swim is clearly marked, and while the water is still cold this time of year, wetsuits are required, so this should not be a problem. The bike course was not especially hilly, and though it was still partially open to traffic, this was not a problem as the neighborhood is quiet this early on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. The run is almost exclusively a trail run, some of it quite steep, with roots and rocks that could be tripping hazards (since I have decided that, having tried it, I'm not fond of trail running, I'm going to skip this race next year, but don't let that deter you). "Did the race as a relay, the run was a great trail run, with lots of hills. My swimmer and cyclists loved the course and the grounds of the Webb Institute are beautiful. This race kicks off the Long Island race season with numerous teams supporting it. Improvements were made to make the bike course safer. "
