"I traveled to Grand Rapids to run this race with some friends. I had never run a 25K before, so I thought it would be fun.
It was neat running along the river, and it was neat getting to run a distance that you don't get to run very often.
I'm not used to running in cold weather in May, and it was definitely cold and misty that day! That can't be helped, but it wasn't ideal.
The aid stations were frequent and awesome - I wish every race did them as well as they did at this race!
The medals were really cool!
I was freezing, so I didn't really hang around to check out the post-race food and such."

"It has been a few years that I have ran this race - but another MUST if you live in Michigan.
The course involves running around the river (hence the name)and tons of other slow runners (like me) to finish around you...so you're not finishing as a solo runner!
Great finishing line events!
Once again, a MUST DO!"

"This is the 25k world championships and always draws a good crowd of athletes. Runners like Dan Brown, Dathan Ritzenheim and Ryan Shay have all run their. Last year was a new course which I liked because it was hilly, however the normal course is rolling with some scenic running. This is a well organized event and their are local hotels if you are coming in from out of town."
