"Excellent organisation and a fun well marked course makes this a great race. It's plenty challenging enough for experienced racers, at the same time as being very accessible to first-timers. The marshalls on the course provide great support and cheer everyone on. Everyone who took part seemed to have a smile on their face. I will definitely do this race again.
The water is a little chilly although I was fine in a sleeveless wetsuit and teh water level is a little low making a slightly longer run from water to biek than is ideal but there is not much to be done about that! Some people opted for some kind of shoe to run up the beach in but I decided that was a few seconds of time I could do without (my swim not being my strongest event!). The bike course is almost all singletrack making this real mountain biking, not fireroads that any roadie could combat. And the run is challenging in the middle but short enough to be able to drag tired legs through to the end - it also has some great views over the lake to distract from the pain of some of the hills!
TBF do a great job with easy registration, easy packet pick up and transition area. Cool TShirt in the goody bag and a relaxed friendly atmosphere. My dogs loved hanging out with my boyfriend at the start/finish/transition while I raced.
James Pratt Photography did a great job of race photos also. Overall an excellent experience for someone doign their first full tri-season "

"This is a great race! It has a super fun mountain bike course with lots of ups and downs. The run can hurt a bit but it is pretty short so you can battle thru it. "
