"This was my second year racing the Greenville Sprint Triathlon from Setup Events. Last year it was my first triathlon ever, and I finished at the bottom of the Novice category with a time of 2:02:30. This year's time was 1:31:16, an amazing difference.
This race starts with a pool swim. 400 meters, 8 laps in the Westside Aquatic Center. The lanes can get a little crowded. But starting 2 people every 10 seconds can do that. I got trapped once behind some slower swimmers. no biggie.
The bike course has a couple of really fun climbs. It's mostly rolling hills and flat terrain, with some farmland in the next county. Beautiful course.
The run is a 2 loop 5k, with 2 aide stations. You hit each aide station coming and going with each loop. so in effect, you have 8 water stops on the 5k course. No dehydration problems here!
Overall, this is a fantastic beginner race, and a challenging course for you real speed demons. Love it, can't wait to do it again next year."
