3 Reviews for Kaiser Permanente Great Aloha Run

"I was in Honolulu on vacation, and staying with friends who were also racing. The course wasn't too exciting, but some of the views along the way were pretty spectacular. It was crowded, though, and I spent a lot of time trying to navigate my way through the croud. Overall, though, it was a good race. And the food and drinks available at the end were pretty terrific. "This is a great race for inexperienced racers (like myself) because it's a fun atmosphere and not intimidating at all!
The start of the race was a little chaotic, as no one really started with their color group, so you were really forced to walk/jog the first quarter mile before people really started spreading out. The course is all road/highway and not too scenic, although a good portion of it was under H1 (I believe), so that provided some good shade in the middle of the race. And entering through the tunnel of Aloha Stadium is a fun finish!
All in all, a fun race that I would love to do again!"

"Not the prettiest of courses, but a good race to start with. This was my first race (with little training) and I'm happy to say 1) I survived; 2) I completed the race in better time than I expected.
I'd do this again, because it's substantial, but not too much."
