"This was my first triathlon and I was very nervous for it! They had a great orientation the day before for all the newbies. The race director and volunteers were all very approachable and full of great info.
The course itself was tough for a first timer. The lake swim was a bit stressful, but that's to be expected. The bike portion was on a partially closed course, however it was VERY hilly and on some rough city streets. The run course was my favourite. It was a trail that looped around the lake. There were a few hills as well, but I didn't find it to be as challenging as the bike hills. (although, that may speak to my under-training)
Overall, I think it's a great race, especially for a city like Fredericton. I would recommend it to both tri newcomers and seasoned veterans. Oh, and the free barbecue afterwards was GREAT ;)"
