"This is a very fast course, although there is a hill just after mile 12 while can get you. I passed a couple of people puking as I was finishing up the last mile.
The race is fairly cheap to enter, and extremely well organized. Packet pickup is race morning, and while the line to board the buses was long, we were all loaded in pretty good time. 2009 had a record turnout, and even with that, buses and porta-potties where plentiful and readily available.
The course meanders down through a canyon, with regular aid stations, and as you get lower, the crowds continue to grow.
Traffic is well controlled and the first 5 or 6 miles, and last mile have the roads completely closed off.
The race shirt is awesome, finishers prize was a race specific dog tag and I got myself a nice PR."
