"This was a fun first Olympic race for me and my friends. There were a lot of pros and fast people on this race (look at past results to see the top finishers and average speed) and with the bike course, I wouldn't recommend this for first-time triathletes. The volunteers were amazing, the race was organized very, very well - a lot of the major roads were blocked off, which helped alleviate much of the car traffic. Other participants were encouraging as well, which was just great. The bike course on this race is longer than typical - 30 miles - and it's tough. If you're considering the race, I recommend trying out the bike course at least once beforehand. Oh, and if you're female and order a women-sized shirt, just know that womens' sizes run REALLY small - I ordered a medium and exchanged it for an extra large. For the run course, familiarize yourself with the bathrooms. There are portapotties, but there are also some bathrooms within the park area along the route."
