1 Reviews for Bolder Options Bolder Dash 5K and 10K

"Bias. It is the bane of all journalism. Lucky for us, this isn't exactly the pinnacle of investigative reporting. This is a race review. I as its reviewer will freely admit my bias: Bolder Options (bolderoptions.org) is a wonderful local mentoring organization. Since the race in 2007, I've become a mentor and done one of their marathon fundraising events.
So, that said, this is one of my favorite 5Ks. While mentors and their youths run other races, this is a big one. It is extraordinary to see so many committed kids and caring adults push on through to the finish line. There is no race event with a better more positive vibe, hands down (remember I've stated my bias).
The route around Lake Nokomis is flat. There is one water stop, staffed by more mentors and youth. Usually the weather this time of year is mild and sunny. The leaves on the trees are turning.
The finish area has pizza from Fat Lorenzos, perfect for the teens and all runners. Other vendors come out in support of Bolder Options and the staff is there to support everyone.
Don't be shy and ask about becoming a mentor. It is the best experience I've ever had...plus then any future Bolder Dash you are in as the many, the proud, the Bolder Alum."
