7 Reviews for Big Sur Half Marathon

"The organization was flawless, which is always nice to hear, but the real reason to run this race is the scenery. There was not a single block of this course that wasn't picture postcard beautiful. Most of the course is along the coast, and if you're looking for a race where you can hear the waves crash on the rocks nearby, this is the race for you."

"Relatively small field but seemed to be well planned and run. Not personally crazy about an out and back course but it was along the water and there were great views. A little crowded in places as you are only on 1/2 of the road so tended to get bunched up in places. Lots of food at the end (fruit - bananas, strawberries, grapes, apples, bagels, muffins, cookies, raisins, juice). On the course there was water, gatorade and GU. "

"This was the best half marathon that I have run. I do not have a thing negative to say. The race backs were green, i do like the samples of glide or chapstick because they seem to be the things I forget while packing, doing the green is making me pack more sensible,
the organization was great, the music, the drummers, the smiles, i plan to run it every year."

"The most fun I've had at a half marathon yet! Awesome course directly on the coast with spectacular views. The course was quite congested, especially the last mile or so when you transition from streets onto a narrow path. Aid stations were well stocked & evenly spaced. Medals are very cool. This particular morning was so cold. Definitely the coldest run i have ever done. My teeth were chattering. I wore shorts, a tech tee with a long sleeve tech pullover which I never took off. I would've liked to have had gloves. Oh, the photography is the best!"

"What a fantastic and beautiful course, great organization, and lots of really good post-race snacks! They did a virtual goodie bag, too."

"This was my first half marathon. It was a very good course for my first distance race. The scenery was breathtaking.
The race was well-organized. My only gripe would be at the end of the race, runners were forced to come to a complete stop immediately after the Finish Line. There was no room to walk around to cool down and the back-up was terrible. The organizers did a post-event survey and addressed the problem so hopefully it will be corrected this year."

"Beautiful course along the cliffs and very enthusiastic crowd. The weather can be difficult that time of the year, however"
