"Running in Coastal NC is great good flat course and most races you end up with a view of the water sometime. The Crystal Coast Half starts in downtown Morehead City. The course goes out and comes back to the start area before heading out again towards the Atlantic Beach bridge. You hit mile 5 on the bridge. The bridge is the only hill in the 13 mile run.
Runners do 5-6 miles over in Atlantic Beach before crossing the bridge to finish back in Morehead City. The roads in Morehead City were closed to traffic. The other roads used had a lane coned off for the runners. Organizers have water stops about every 2 miles with a gatorade also at 6 and 10. A good medal, a technical shirt, and a baseball cap were given to the runners. Post race food included girl scout cookies and WHOLE Panera Bread Cinnamon Crunch bagels pretty impressive. "
