"This is a great local race on a fantastic course. I have raced at shorter distances here in the past, and my husband has also raced here. It's a great experience, and good family atmosphere.
The race company is reliable and responsive. The only thing I don't like about them is that they use grape HEED on the course, but I'm sure they get it for free.
The race is very reasonably priced, especially for a HIM. The support was still out in good force when I was on the run course, and I am not fast. Having two loops on the run makes it less lonely, since a small percentage of participants were doing the HIM.
The bike course is great, with its mostly predictable loops and the surprise hill. And then the levee hill, leaving you with a nice burn as you come into transition.
Great Port-A-Potties.
Wonderful for families. My kids played on the beach while I was out on the swim and later on during the bike."
