"The weather and course were beautiful. Many families were at the finish line with several runners enjoying having their children cross the finish line with them. It was great to watch and cheer them on. Sorry Mary was DQ'd but the website clearly states that bikes and dogs are prohibited on the course during the race for safety reasons. "

"What a beautiful venue! This was my first marathon. The day was fabulous. Ran the race with my niece, Katie, also her first marathon. We were both pumped to be doing the race. In the end we were DSQ! Why? Because the race director and his wife felt deceived by my husband and his brother who came out on the course with their bikes. They were asked by the wife if they were volunteers and they said yes. Then they proceeded with their day of 'volunteering'. They helped at aid stations, cheered people on and let race organizers know when people were hurt on the trail. They picked up garbage and encouraged Katie & I on our first marathon. They were awesome! The director and his wife? Very small people, in my estimation. There are many ways to handle a perceived offense. The way they handled it? Public confrontation and attempted humiliation. So wrong, so small, so inappropriate. "
