"SUCH A FUN RACE!! This was my 3rd 1/2 marathon and I chose it because I knew it would be flat and fast. And it was--the only downside are the roads in new orleans. they need to be repaved so you have to watch where you are running most of the time. The Rock n Roll series is my new favorite. great expo, loved the bands along the race-music was loud enough and they played alot of classics, band at the end of the race (cowboy mouth and sister hazel) along with beer--who doesn\'t love that??? I also loved that at the finish line they have alphabetical letters where you can meet your family which is great-i've had problems with that in the past at other races. i'm a sucker for a cool medal and this one definitely is--the medal is attached to mardi gras beads. they even engrave your time right after the race. i'm hoping that the spectator crowds get bigger in the upcoming years. i will definitely run this race for years to come. My family came with me to watch and they were already wanting to know the date for next year so we can book our hotel.
New Orleans is a great city-and a 1/2 marathon is a great reason to take a vacation and visit."

"The course is fast and flat as advertised. The porta potties along the start were awesome. You could go right up until you crossed the start line. They chose to hand out Cytomax along the course which is disgusting. I wish they had stuck with gatorade/powerade. The medal was really cool and I would definitely do the race again."

"Event was very well organized and all the participants, volunteers, and spectators were full of energy. The course is fast and flat. The streets are pretty rough, so you have to watch your footing quite a bit. Overall, this race was fun and a great destination race! "

"I can't say enough about how great this race was. I have done several half marathons, including a few Rock-N-Roll, and this one is now at the top of the list.

You just can't beat the atmosphere in NOLA. Crowds were fantastic and lined all parts of the course. Very well organized, plenty of support for runners, great expo, perfect weather! Course was very flat and can easily give you a PR (I did!!). I think we will make this one an annual trip!"
