"COURSE
The course is great because it's in Central Park, but maybe I'm biased because it is my favorite place to run :)
CROWD
There are a surprising number of spectators given the type of event it is. I didn't know that anyone knew about the run unless you were participating in it (some runners at my company don't even know about it!). In 2009, one guy ran with a stereo on his back which was entertaining (maybe not for him!).
ORGANIZATION
There are a lot of participants, so even though they split everyone into two days, you end up spending a good part of the beginning walking unless you're in the front of the pack.
It's pretty much a self selection with signs indicating pace, but unless you get there early, you're pretty much stuck wherever you can get in the line.
And a lot of people seem to overestimate their running ability since it's basically a race where people who sit on their butts all day leave their offices at a decent hour to run in the park. So if you care about being in front, get there early.
The event is well organized, although in 2009 they couldn't keep up with the water cups, which was annoying. No problem at the finish, where there was plenty of water and bananas. Lots of signs and time markers.
This last thing has nothing to do with being a participant, but because the race has become so popular, companies are pretty much forced to buy space in the picnic area with expensive catering to participate. The companies are then given priority registration and I'm told if you don't, your company may not be able to participate.
BOTTOM LINE
Corporate Challenge is a lot of fun, especially if your company is paying the entry fee!"

"I like the idea of professionals coming together to do a physical activity together. I've heard that this race can get pretty crowded and frustrating to run, but once you get into the groove of the race it's not that bad. It's entertaining to see all the different T-shirt designs and to see which companies are represented. And a nice surprise when you see someone you know in the crowd of hundreds."

"This annual race is a great way to get together with your colleagues outside of the office! One of the best parts is seeing the differnet custom designed tshirts as you run through Central Park. The start, like any race, is a little chaotic, even though it's already split up into 2 days."
