"The fact that I just got back from Hawaii, less than 48 hours ago, I made it just in time for the run. I had to drive around the block to get to the start line and then had to park on a side street rather than the parking lot.

Note: Show up 10 minutes prior to the run rather than 5 minutes.

Again, in my defense, I just got back from Hawaii. None of the excursions I went on while visiting Hawaii started or ended on time. There is no concept of time in Hawaii, from what I could tell.

This is a small local run. Last year there were a little under 100 people. This year, it was more about 60 to 70 people.

Along the way, you feel as if you'll get lost. Because it's a small local run, there are markings but not at every spot.

There were 2 water stops, I use the water to pour on my head.

Pacifica was sunny and warm as ever. Not sure why when I run in Pacifica, it's gorgeous but any other time it's foggy and cold.

Since this was the first run I've done in 2 weeks, it was slow. After all, this was only 5 miles and the time they called out was about 54 minutes.

I didn't bother sticking around for the awards because at 54 minutes, I know I didn't place. "
