1 Reviews for Tri For Fun #2

"800+ participants, 100+ volunteers, already 70 degree weather at 4:30am... it was a great day for Tri for Fun #2!
I have heard great things about the Tri for Fun series, and just as I expected my first triathlon was such a positive experience. I wanted to participate because I figured this sprint distance race would help prepare me as I am currently mid-way through my training program for an olympic distance race in September.
As a newbie I was slightly intimidated by the numbers sharpie-d on my legs/arm, my first swim in a lake, my first time doing actual transitions, and the fact that apparently the run wasn't a flat course and consisted of rolling hills. Luckily, they had a meeting at 6:30am for all first-timers where they said a few things to make everyone feel comfortable. This race is "non-competitive" (ie race times aren't shared online for all to google and see) and designed for novices so I knew I was in good company. I wish I had gotten to stick around for the raffle in the end but we had to take off shortly after finishing. Fruit and drinks were provided, and all participants got a Tri for Fun t-shirt!
I would definitely participate in this race again and try to beat my time (1:17). I tried for fun... and it was!"
