"This is a pretty run if you like running paved trails and the last few miles are very beautiful, but when I wanted to kick it in near the end I couldn't, as there were many curves and loose stone paths, so I had to slow down for safety's sake.
Also this course is deceivingly hilly so a PR is not a player generally. This marathon had just over 300 runners, so if you like to run lonely with little crowd support and a cow or two, this is perfect for you. I prefer larger marathons and people so not really the race for me. The "Heed" sports drink did not help hydration, it's just plain bad tasting and watered down, not the organizers fault though and the RD was great. Additionally, their medal is one of the best designed medals in the state in my eyes.
I wanted to run this marathon and glad I did, but I won't run it again only because I can't get good times at smaller events, thus I suffer a bit more afterwords! :-)"
