"This is a good race. It has a challenging course that takes you from NC State, through downtown Raleigh, out to the fairgrounds and back to NC State for the finish.
The most difficult portion of the half marathon course is around mile 12 going up the hill on Western Blvd."

"This is a great, albeit challenging race. Not too crowded, so you never have to fight for a spot. There are rolling hills for the first few miles, then more serious hills for the full marathoners as you head up towards the park. Although it didn't bother me, from about miles 10 through 20, there was little to no crowd support save for Aid Stations. In the park, you are downright alone, particularly because there aren't that many runners.
Overall, a really great small marathon that is affordable and well organized. "
