"This was my second year running this race and it is still a difficult one to do. The main reason is the lack of shade on the course. Last year was a hotter year, but this year had cooler temps and a nice breeze which helped tremendously. Also, the course was changed slightly because of a new interchange that interfered with the old route. Never fear, though, they still managed to get in a nice sized hill at mile 3-4! :)
I ran this knowing I was having issues with my Achilles, but did it anyway. My bad! I had to speed walk from mile 4 to mile 6, but managed to sort of run the last .2 mile. My time was horrible, but I still beat last year's time by 2.5 minutes.
I will probably do this again just to see if I can run it without being injured. hahaha! It's a very inexpensive race at only $7.00 and helps out the local running club. There's a 3k run and walk also so the entire family can be involved. It's fun and you get a free pancake breakfast at the end."

"This an excellent race. My only complaint was that it was so hot, but that's no one's fault! :) It's a good course, with one long hill and one short hill, but a mostly flat, out and back course through town. I will run it again next year, I'm sure. "
