"I've never heard about this race until the 2009 RRCA Conference in SF. The Presidio 10 was the conference's race that year, and after running it the first time, I knew I had to come back again.
I love running across the GG Bridge, but I did not like how people were randomly lined up at the start. Running up to the bridge there's a narrow section where you would have to weave through walkers/slower runners uphill. Once you get on the bridge, there's more space around you as runners start spreading out. The 10 milers started 1/2 hour earlier, so that also helped manage the size of runners on the course.
The best part was the post-race festivities. Free burritos from Asquew Grill and free pancakes. I probably got freebies from almost every single vendor there. The race raises money for a great cause, and I do plan on doing it again."

"This was an awesome race that I would do again in a heartbeat. The weather was spectacular (low 60's and sunny) and the course was amazing. It starts out along the water in the Marina, runs up the Presidio (first 2 miles of 10 mile run are pretty much uphill), then across the GG Bridge and back and finishes up with 3 flat miles in Crissy Field. Even though 2,200 people did the 10K and 10 mile, it has a very small race feel to it. The post race party had excellent free food (burrittos, water, etc.). The only downside was the t-shirts were white cotton lameness.
Still - a must do 10 miler."
