"I only did the run leg of the relay, which was fast and scenic once around the lake. My teammate doing the swim said the water was warm and tasted a bit of boat fuel. A festive atmosphere, and very hearty food at the finish line!"

"A lot of people like this course because it is all flat. I found it dull. It is a well organized race and very festive. But for me, I like the challenge of hills in my courses."

"I have done this ever since it started. The swim used to be at Raging Waters and the bike course included the Metcalf Mauler (big hill). The present Almaden course is fast and well laid out. This year they miss measured the run course, 7.3 miles and ran out of water."

"This is a great triathlon for a first timer, which is what I was when I did it. It is extremely well organized and the course is soothingly easy for someone who is semi-scared of doing a triathlon. The swim is essentially once around a man made lake, the bike course is dull but easy with one tiny hill, and the run is flat. It is basically a neighborhood triathlon that is organized like a world class triathlon. "
