"Today I started out with peanut butter and jelly. Much better than yesterday's run. It's always good to start out a run after a good meal.
One of the volunteers asked me if I was crazy. Apparently it's not normal to run a 10k the day after a half marathon? I guess someone should have told me that before I registered or I need adult supervision or I am crazy.
This run started at Coyote Point. The problem with Coyote Point is dogs are not allowed. There is nothing they can do about the geese, the geese droppings are worse than dog poop. (But that's just my opinion.)
Aside from started at Coyote Point the run went along the bay trail, past Ryder Park, past Seal Point Park, along the way to Foster City. This is the route, except for Coyote Point, that I normally run with Diva and Rocky.
My time was slow, maybe that's because my legs were tired from running the half yesterday. I kept up my regular pace for the first 3.5 miles and then slowed down.
It was flat out and back. Flat except for the end, running up the hill at Coyote Point. There is one spot, looking out onto the bay, it is flat at the top, I felt as if I was racing the plane that was coming in for a landing. (The plane won the race.)
It was a sunny warm day for a run. It would probably be better if they started the run at 8 am rather than 9 am. Since I know the trail, I know that it is busier at 9 am.
Jamba Juice was selling regular size drinks rather than giving away the small sample sizes. I don't drink jamba juice and I also don't carry cash when I run.
I liked having the packet pick up at Road Runner Sports the day before. Very convenient. "
