"I enjoyed the course well enough. It was more scenic than a lot of typical sprints in the state. There was also a good number of participants with some tough competators."

"This was a somewhat challenging sprint that was held around the Santa Fe Community Center.
Run - The first mile of the run was a downhill run down Rodeo Dr. The run was held on a course that was not closed to traffic, there were times when drivers were coming close to participants. The run then veered to a bike path and continued an up hill to the community center to complete the loop. The last portion of the run was difficult. If the course remains the same for next years event take into account the up hill run.
Bike - The course was a series of rolling hills through the new hosing developments south of I-25. This course was also not closed to through traffic. This caused several problems for participants in the race. There were occasions where vehicles took much of the road around traffic circles. The organizers of the event should improve this course before next years race.
Swim - Was held last in the community center pool. Typical pool swim.
Overall - Overall this was a good race. The altitude and the rolling hills made the race a challenging but, in my opinion, nontraditional sprint. I question if the organizers of the event had actually tried the course before holding the race. The transition areas were spread out and unorganized. "
