"The race was a really great event! Although the course was primarily on a cement road, it was all blocked off and the scenery on GWU's Mount Vernon campus was beautiful. There were snacks, water, a great crowd, and best of all the proceeds went to an amazing cause! "

"This race was awesome! It was held on the Mount Vernon Campus from 4pm - 6pm on March 5th, 2011 by GlobeMed GWU to support the Huye Health Clinic in Butare, Rwanda.
The course was 4 laps around the campus, starting in front of Acheson Science Center, around the main quad and back trails, to the back of West Hall and back. There were some refreshments for the runners, such as water, granola bars, and candy. The organization also gave out Livestrong-like bracelets and t-shirts. The prizes (gift certificates to Potomac River Running and other GlobeMed events) were given out to the top five runners. The team running the 5K was enthusiastic and had music playing the whole time, making the event fun.
This 5K is going to be an annual event and I would definitely do it again!
